Inventory and warehouse management, by location and by lot

With inventory management in Lean ERP you know what is in stock, where it is and who it is for. Per warehouse, per location and per lot, with the best-before date alongside.

What does Lean keep track of per stock line?

Each stock line is a concrete quantity of an item in a place.

Warehouse and locationSeveral warehouses or sites, and within each warehouse the stock locations.
Lot and serial numberLot number and serial numbers per stock line, and searching by lot number.
Shelf lifeThe best-before date is on the stock line. You can pick in order of best-before date.
Container and packagingA container or pallet number and the packaging of the stock.
BlockedStock that must not be used is blocked with a reason, for example while it waits for a quality check.
ReservedStock already earmarked for an order shows as a reservation on that order.

How does stock move?

  1. 1
ReceiptPurchases and production bring stock in, with lot and best-before date.
  2. 2
MovingMoving stock to another location, or splitting a stock line into several lines.
  3. 3
PickingFor a delivery or a production order, picking is done with the mobile screens, in the order of the locations.
  4. 4
CorrectingA correction on one or several selected stock lines at once, with the reason.
  5. 5
HistoryEvery movement is kept: where it came from, where it went, who did it.

Counting and checking

With the mobile counting screen, the warehouse operator chooses a warehouse and a location and sees all the items that should be there, grouped by item, lot and best-before date. He counts what is really there. Counting can be done per location or per lot, including as a rolling count over the year.

Per company you decide whether stock may ever go negative, whether new stock locations are allowed during a receipt, and which warehouses a user gets to see.

Tracing from a single lot

Starting from one lot or one item, the traceability report shows the chain: where it came from, which production it went into, which order it went to. You can print it as a report. In food production you use it for a recall exercise or an audit.

Looking ahead at stock

The stock projection report shows per item and per warehouse today's stock, with the open purchases coming in and the open sales going out. So you see when a shortage will appear, and how many weeks of stock you have left based on usage over the past weeks.

What is standard and what we set up

As standard, Lean ERP includes several warehouses, stock locations, lots, serial numbers, best-before dates, reservations, moving, splitting, corrections, history and the traceability report.

Set up at the start: your warehouses and locations, your opening stock (through an import), the way you pick, labels and the choices per company. We switch on the stock projection report if you need it.
