IRP Information Requirements Planning

Process management software that brings the information to every step

With IRP you set out your processes as a series of steps, with the information each step needs. Because IRP is part of Lean ERP, a step also shows the ERP data that belongs to it. That makes IRP process management software that works with the data you already have.

Your process, step by step

Process management software helps you define, follow up and improve a process. With IRP it is not only about the steps, but also about the information each step needs.

  1. 1
ProcessYou set out your process as a series of steps, for example from enquiry to handover.
  2. 2
PlanningEach step is in the planning of the file, together with the steps it depends on.
  3. 3
InformationFor each step you define which information is needed: a choice, a drawing, a confirmation, a check or a document.
  4. 4
Follow-upFor each file you see which step is done, which information has come in and what is still missing.

Integration with the ERP

IRP is part of Lean ERP. A step in the business process can therefore show ERP data without a copy: the choices in the customer's sales order, the lines of a quotation, the details of a survey.

The data exists only once. If the order or the quotation changes, every step looks at the same, updated data.

Which data a step shows, and who may view or complete it, is set up together with you at the start, process by process. Read more about permissions under Permissions and security.

Example: the menu for a wedding

At a catering company, the maître d'hôtel needs to know the wedding menu. One of the pieces of information in his step is a link to the customer's order. He sees the menu at his step and can click through to answer guests' questions.

The same goes for the kitchen and for whoever does the mise en place: at their step they see the dishes from the quotation, multiplied by the number of guests. The menu exists only once. If it changes, everyone looks at the same data.

Example: from survey to quotation

When surveying windows and doors, the employee opens the information he has to supply straight from his planning. For each opening he records the details, possibly with photos that give a clearer picture of the solution required.

Back at the office, the estimator uses that data to prepare the quotation for the customer. Later in the process, the salesperson and the site manager can consult the same information during the works.

Frequently asked questions about process management software

What is the difference between process management software and IRP?

Process management software defines the steps of a process and tracks them. IRP does that too, and also defines for each step which information is needed, who supplies it and whether it is already there.

Do I still need an ERP alongside IRP?

IRP is part of Lean ERP. Steps can therefore show ERP data, such as the choices in an order or the details of a survey.

Does any software need to be installed?

No. Lean runs in the browser. Updates are handled centrally.
