ERP software for electrical contractors

Lean is ERP software for electrical contractors: from residential installations to industrial projects with panel building in your own workshop. Besides quote, scheduling, work order and invoice, Lean keeps track of what is specific to electrical work: the inspection, the drawings and the certificates that go with every handover.

The basics are on the installation software page

Quotes, work orders, crew scheduling, the digital work order, invoicing and maintenance work for an electrician just as for any installer. You will find that explanation on the main installation software page. Below you can read what is added for electrical work.

No handover without inspection and drawings

An electrical installation is only finished once it has been inspected, and the inspection needs documents: the single-line diagram, the layout plan, the report of the approved inspection body. If one is missing, the handover is delayed, and often the final invoice too.

With IRP you define per process step which information is needed. At the inspection step, the drawings and the certificate are listed as expected documents. Per file you see what has come in, what is still missing, and who has to supply it: your planner, the inspector or the customer.

Which steps and documents apply to your company, we set up together at the start.

Panel building in the workshop and fitting on site

If you build panels or cabinets in your own workshop, these are production orders with a bill of materials: enclosure, protection devices, wiring, controls. The materials come from your stock or are ordered for that order.

The work order for the workshop and the work order for fitting sit in the same file. If a step is linked to a workstation, the employee sees on his phone which production orders are ready on that workstation for this project.

Small repairs and large projects

On the same day an electrician carries out a repair for a private customer and continues work on a new-build project. Lean keeps the two apart, in the same schedule.

Repairs and call-outsA short work order, the technician records hours and materials, and the work is ready for the invoice.
ProjectsA file with several steps: preparation, first fix, second fix, inspection, handover. Per step the work orders and the information needed.
Industrial projectsEngineering, panel building, commissioning and testing as steps of one file, with the documents each step requires.
MaintenanceInstallations at the customer with serial number and contract, and a checklist per type of inspection.

Materials from the wholesaler

Electrical work runs on many small items: cable by the metre, protection devices, boxes, light fittings. In Lean they are in your item list, from which the technician picks them on his work order. What is used goes onto the work order and on to the invoice.

If you work with a regular wholesaler, we look together at the best way to get items and prices into Lean.

Frequently asked questions for electrical contractors

Can I track the inspection documents per file?

Yes. With IRP you define which documents the inspection step needs, and per file you see what has come in and what is missing. These steps and documents are set up at the start.

Does Lean work for panel building?

Yes. Panels and cabinets are production orders with a bill of materials, in the same file as the fitting.

Can I use items from my wholesaler?

Yes, the items are in your own item list. How to import your wholesaler's items and prices, we look at together.
