Software for solar panel installers

Lean is software for installers of solar panels, inverters and home batteries. From quote and site survey to purchasing the materials, fitting, inspection and aftercare: each installation is one file, and at every step you see what is still missing.

The basics are on the installation software page

Work orders, crew scheduling, the digital work order and invoicing work for a solar installer just as for any installer. You will find that explanation on the main installation software page. Below you can read what is added for solar panels.

Many files, always the same steps

A solar installation follows a fixed route. The difference is in the volume: dozens of files at the same time, each at a different step.

In Lean each installation is a file that goes through those steps. Per step you find the work orders, the documents and the information the step needs. Which steps you use, we set up at the start.

From quote to site survey

The quote includes panels, inverter, possibly a battery, mounting materials and labour, with the options the customer can choose. Once confirmed, it becomes the order in the same file.

During the site survey your employee records what the fitting needs: the roof type, the orientation, the inverter location, roof access. With IRP you see per file whether that data has come in, before a crew is scheduled.

Materials on time, for every fitting

Panels and inverters are the largest cost in the file, and their lead time determines the fitting date. Lean sets the material requirements of your orders against your stock and what has already been ordered. From those requirements you create purchase proposals and orders with your supplier.

That way you see, before confirming a fitting, whether the materials will be there in time.

Scheduling fitting crews

A fitting needs a crew, a van and sometimes an aerial platform. In service scheduling you assign them per day and see per crew how much room is left. The crew sees the address, the task and the materials on the phone, and records hours and photos of the finished installation.

Inspection, documents and aftercare

After fitting come the inspection, the registration with the grid operator and the documents for the customer. If one document is missing, the file stays open. With IRP those documents are listed as expected information at their step, so you see which files are stuck, and on what.

After handover the installation stays registered at the customer: the serial number of the inverter and battery, the installation date, the end of warranty and any maintenance contract. On a breakdown or a cleaning visit, the technician sees what happened before.

The customer follows his file

Through the customer portal your customer sees the schedule of the work orders on his file. Anyone who wants to know when the fitting is planned does not need to phone.

Frequently asked questions for solar installers

Can I keep track of inverter and battery serial numbers?

Yes. Each installation at the customer gets a record with serial number, type, installation date and end of warranty. The technician can also add an installation from the site.

Does Lean show whether the materials will arrive in time for a fitting?

Lean sets the material requirements of your orders against stock and purchase orders, and from those requirements you create your orders.

Can we also track batteries and charging points?

Yes. For Lean that is another item in the quote and another installation at the customer, with the same follow-up.
