Integrations Accounting

Venice accounting integration with Lean ERP

You keep your accounts in Venice, installed on your own server or PC. Lean runs online. How do you bring the two together? With an integration that places the invoices from Lean in a queue, from which they go to Venice.

A project-based integration

The connection with Venice is not a standard connection like those with Exact Online or Yuki. It was built in a customer project and runs there in day-to-day invoicing. For a new customer we set it up again, tailored to your installation: that is a project, with its own meeting and schedule.

Why do we say this so plainly? Because the difference matters for your planning. A standard connection is set up during the start-up. A project-based integration first needs an agreement on exactly what is exchanged.

Why a queue?

Venice sits on your premises, inside your network. Lean runs online. A direct connection from outside into your accounts is usually not desirable.

That is why Lean places the invoices you mark in a queue. An agent picks them up there and passes them to Venice. Where that agent runs is adapted to your network, so your accounts do not need to be reachable from outside.

Which data is exchanged?

Sales invoicesThe invoices you prepare in Lean for accounting, with their lines and VAT.
Purchase invoicesIn one customer project, purchase invoices are also tracked between Lean and Venice. Whether you need this is something we discuss.
Status in LeanOn the invoice you see in Lean that it has gone to accounting.

Conditions and limitations

A place for the agent. The agent needs access to Venice. Where it runs is agreed in the first meeting.

Your Venice version. Which version you use, and how Venice accepts data, is looked at in the first meeting.

Agreements with your accountant. Journals, account numbers and VAT codes are agreed in advance, so that what arrives in Venice is right first time.

No payments back. You record payments in Lean itself.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Venice connection a standard connection?

No. It exists and runs in a customer project, but for a new customer we set it up again as a project.

Do my accounts have to be reachable from outside?

Not necessarily. Lean places the invoices in a queue and an agent passes them to Venice. Where that agent runs is adapted to your network.

Do payments from Venice come back to Lean?

No. You record payments in Lean itself.
